On Thursday afternoon, we went to see Bob at the Harley’s Dealership, but were not able to find two bikes for us, being one of them an ElectraGlide that fitted our budget.
We want to get an ElectraGlide for making long trips but also want another bike for me, as I want to ride as well.
Fortunately, my husband had been doing some research on eBay and saw an interesting add featuring two Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary Edition with low mileage and between our budget range. This add was for a 2003 ElectraGlide Classic and 2003 Dyna WideGlide.
Both bikes where in Daytona, so this weekend, we drove up there (250 miles) just to see what they were like.
All I can say is… Jackpot!
Beautiful bikes, in excellent shape, with chrome, saddle bags, everything. The people who were selling them have been Harley Davidson riders for ever. He rode on the Electra and his wife on the Dyna Wide. Both bikes look awesome together as they are the same color and both are 100th Anniversary Edition. Need to say more?
We bought them! Gave the owner a deposit and this next Thursday we are going back to Daytona to pick them up.
So now we are finding out which trailer and truck we must rent in order to transport them.
Can’t wait!!

Almost Ready!
This morning, at 8.30 am, my husband and I had an appointment at Opa Locka's DHSMV. This was the only office where we were able to get an appointment for this week. I highly recommend this DHSMV office it is quick and has friendly service. So after 30 minutes, we got our new license in order to ride motorcycles ;) We are so happy!
The next thing remaining is getting the Harley's! So this afternoon we are going to go back to Peterson's Dealer and evaluate our options...

First things First!
Ok., nice idea about riding a bike through the US, but... we need to learn to ride!!!
My husband and I decided to enroll for the MTII Basic Rider Course. This course is designed to teach beginning motorcyclists of all ages the physical and mental skills necessary to ride safely on the street. Sweet!
So last Thursday at 5.30 pm we began our first class at Peterson’s Harley Davidson of Miami. Our instructors were John, Rich and Winston and our class size was of 12 great people. On our first lesson, it was all theory, we learnt about the basics of riding a motorcycle and safety.
Our next lesson was on Saturday at 6.45 am, at the RANGE!!! As always in Miami, it was HOT! and having all our gear on was even HOTTER!!
My husband was having a good time too, so my thoughts were again about the Electra Glide’s we had been looking at the past weeks. I want to drive too!!! I don’t want to be a passenger!! and I don’t want to take turns to drive, so once we finished our glorious, exhausting first riding day talked to him about my thoughts.

Must admit I was nervous about learning how to switch gears and everything but the instructors were awesome. Once I got a little bit of more confidence I really enjoyed it! Fell once, but I was almost still, stupid of me! But it was good to release all my fears.

So, know the big question is… what bike should we get without exceeding our budget?? Maybe two older Road Kings…???
I went to sleep that night with some bruises and dreaming about us on the road.
On Sunday, was our last riding day and exam day too!! We had to make some U turns in a small area, swerve and stop suddenly at over 15 miles per hour. Fortunately both of us passed as well as the written exam. So now we are ready to get our license next Thursday.Doing the Basic Rider Course was a great experience, our student fellows were fun and we all had a great time. Hope to see you guys on the road soon!!
Once we get our license, we need to get the two bikes and start practicing. Can’t wait!!The plan...
My husband (Sebastian) and I moved to Miami last December from Argentina. I don't if you have ever been to Buenos Aires, Arg., but traffic is crazy. Riding a bike on the streets of Buenos Aires is something for the brave ones!!!
Even though most people in the US say Miami's traffic is crazy, I love it how people drive here! Everyone is much nicer and less aggressive than in my country, therefore, now that we are more settled in Miami, Sebastian and I started thinking about travelling across the US.
Both of us love knowing new people and places and we love going on the road. We've always been on the road by car, so know that we see how traffic is here we started evaluating the possibility of riding a motorcycle and travel through some of the great roads here in the US.
We contacted a friend of ours who lives in California and owns a Softail Harley and asked him for advice. He recommended us to get a touring bike as we are planning to make long trips, so we started looking at the Electra Glides. BIG BIKE!!! Looks comfortable and great for travelling but my main concern, knowing I love to drive almost anything, was that I was going to be bored riding at the back. Talked to some people that always travel as passenger and they all say it's awesome, so I think w'ell give it try...
