After tropical storm Irene, my bike got really rusty. I had been out of town for a couple of days and when I saw my bike I wanted to cry!!!!
OMG!!
So last weekend my husband and I took care of our bikes and worked on them all day.
Here is how I removed the rust:
I still have to keep on working on it, but at least the worst is gone.
The rack has been the hardest, this weekend I will keep on working on it.
How do you remove the rust from your motorcycle? Any tips?

Right to Know: Vote Yes on Prop 37
Dear friends,
This November when you cast your vote, please vote YES on Prop 37! We have the right to know what's in our food. If there's nothing wrong with GMOs, what's the harm in labeling it? Proposition 37 is on the California ballot this Tuesday - take a step ahead of the nation and vote to make labeling GMOs a fact

Freedom, talkin' about it and bein' it, that's two different things
Yesterday while looking through some nice Harley Davidson books featuring their history I saw this excerpt from the movie "Easy Rider" where Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper talk about freedom. It's a great dialogue and good to remember. The years have gone by but this dialogue is still so true.
George Hanson: You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I can't understand what's gone wrong with it.
Billy: Man, everybody got chicken, that's what happened. Hey, we can't even get into like, a second-rate hotel, I mean, a second-rate motel, you dig? They think we're gonna cut their throat or somethin'. They're scared, man.
George Hanson: They're not scared of you. They're scared of what you represent to 'em.
Billy: Hey, man. All we represent to them, man, is somebody who needs a haircut.
George Hanson: Oh, no. What you represent to them is freedom.
Billy: What the hell is wrong with freedom? That's what it's all about.
George Hanson: Oh, yeah, that's right. That's what's it's all about, all right. But talkin' about it and bein' it, that's two different things. I mean, it's real hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the marketplace. Of course, don't ever tell anybody that they're not free, 'cause then they're gonna get real busy killin' and maimin' to prove to you that they are. Oh, yeah, they're gonna talk to you, and talk to you, and talk to you about individual freedom. But they see a free individual, it's gonna scare 'em.
Billy: Well, it don't make 'em runnin' scared.
George Hanson: No, it makes 'em dangerous. Buh, neh! Neh! Neh! Neh! Swamp!

Valentine's Day with a twist
Last Tuesday it was Valentine's Day. In my country we do not celebrate that day, so taking advantage that here they do, I convinced my husband on having a romantic dinner. And so we did at a Food Truck Event in North Miami! That was fun!
We usually have dinner around 9pm but that day we went to the event right from work so I guess we were on of the first ones to be there. There were almost 20 food trucks lined up by 127st and Biscayne. The variety of food was AMAZING, Mexican, Asian, Argentinian, American, Italian.
It was really hard to choose one! And there was a Jazz Band to complete the evening.
Many Food Trucks (BTTR) offered special Menus for two. For example Cucina al Mare had a "Lady and the Tramp" special: linguine in either meat sauce with meatballs or veggie sauce with eggplant. My husband ordered from that truck their special meatball sandwich. He had never had a meatball sandwich and according to him it was delicious!
This truck had a nice table with a tablecloth full of hearts and a nice centerpiece. I ordered food from another truck, Miso Hungry. I had curry chicken with rice. Really Good!
We had a nice time walking along the food trucks and discovering all the options. I am sure we will go again as they are there I believe every week. Next time I will try some churros!
So if, you'd like to experience great fresh food in a different environment follow them on facebook to learn where they are hosting their next event.
BIKERS! Remember that the FIRST Thursday of every month the food trucks are at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino. It's Bike Night. Enjoy bike, foods, drinks and a movie under the stars!
PS: Take cash ;) Some trucks don't accept credit cards.

Toys in the Sun Run 2011
Today was the 24th Annual Toys in the Sun Run. We woke up very early to meet with our friends before arriving at the Mardi Gras Casino where the run was going to start. This year I didn't go with my bike as I wanted to be able to take lots of pictures, so my husband took me on his bike. It was fun riding with him for a change and I was glad I didn't have to ride my bike as it rained like hell when the ride started. Part of highway I-95 and I-595 were closed just for the bikers! Even though it rained hard everyone was in the spirit of the run and kept on riding, it was awesome!
Once we got there it stopped raining, so we changed our clothes and went into the park. As soon as we entered it started raining on and off until 2pm...
We had lunch, took pictures, won a tank top from Jagermeister (my husband got it for me as I didn't have any luck...) and once the sun came out, we went back home! We were soaked!
Here are some pics I took today. Enjoy!
Did you ride today?

POAT RIDE ~ December 3rd
This semiannual motorcycle ride to Islamorada is to benefit the POAT holiday gifts for surviving children program. POAT provides gifts to the children of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty or on active duty while serving the citizens of Miami-Dade County. This year the police force has added 11 names and now have 71 children in the program, representing 14 different law enforcement agencies.
Holiday gifts for surviving children symbolizes the law enforcement community reaching out and remembering the children of those officers who gave their lives protecting and serving the rest of us. It is important that these children know that their parent's sacrifice was not forgotten.
Registration is $20, for more information go to their site http://www.poat.org/
The ride is amazing and the cause too!! So gather your friends and ride!!!!
